US - Mexico Border Fence
Tijuana, Mexico
This month I joined a group of colleagues from the International League of Conservation Photographers on a "RAVE" - a Rapid Assessment Visual Expedition - to document the environmental impact of the US - Mexico border fence, now under construction. This misguided solution to a failed US immigration policy will have a dramatically negatve impact on migratory species along our southern border. The results of this RAVE will be part of a presentation to Congress in March to try and stop construction and restore vital environmental controls.
This shot is of a young Mexican boy who enjoyed flirting with the US Border Patrol by repeatedly doing an "end-run" around the end of the fence that juts out into the Pacific.
